This role also has a line into the NTAM Global Control Testing team. Duties and Responsibilities include:Supports control testing leadership in all phases of testing and provides assessment of the adequacy of required controls.Assists in the development and execution of appropriate test plans using a risk-based approach.Undertakes testing of controls identified through the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process to provide assurance over their design and operating effectiveness.Oversees testing against a range of scenarios including those relating to Business Continuity and Operational Resilience to identify control gaps and vulnerabilities.Undertakes focused deep dives into new and developing areas such as Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)Assists in the identification of vulnerabilities, suggests remediation activities, and works with the business to address gaps and enhancements
to plans/strategies/processes/playbooks. Supports reporting on the results of testing and associated improvement plans/strategies.Identifies and solves complex, operational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.Supports the implementation of testing and reporting to confirm execution in alignment with the control testing framework. Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience8+ years in financial services, consulting, operational risk management or audit with a demonstrated track record of operational risk management, of which at least 3-5 years of related experience in roles working in Control TestingSolid understanding of regulatory, compliance and legal environment within the Asset Management industryExperience working in an Asset Management or Asset Servicing organization. Ability to drive to execution through strong project management and prioritization skills. Adept at and with a proven track record of working across multiple areas of businesses and functions.Strong influencing, facilitation, and consensus building skills across all organizational levels.Ability to assess risk, identify and communicate solutions, and drive change.Dynamic relationship building and partnership skills; a strong collaborator across multiple groups and stakeholders.Outstanding communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to develop materials and effectively present to and persuade Executive, Risk and Audit audiences as well as regulators.Demonstrated track record of operating independently on multiple priorities with minimal oversight.Flexibility and ability to rapidly adapt to change and shifting business priorities. Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences.Strong situational awareness and decision-making capabilities.Strong understanding of risk management and asset management practices.. Working with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
