I have an AMAZING opportunity for a PASSIONATE and COMMITTED individual to join a residential service in the Taunton area as a Children's Support Worker.
The service tailors the care & support they provide, prioritising the needs and wants of their young people. You will motivate young people to take ownership of their lives while encouraging their learning and development.
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**
Job Title: Children's Support Worker
Salary: £28,393- £29,683 (sleep allowance included)
Location: Taunton (TA7 postcode)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift pattern: 2 on 4 off
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities:
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
- Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
Requirements:
- You must hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence as you'll be required to transport young people from time to time ESSENTIAL
- Experience working with Young People who display challenging behaviours DESIRABLE
- Already completed Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People DESIRABLE
- We can only consider candidates who are 21 years old ESSENTIAL
